Obama could have phoned this one in. McCain was still his cranky old self and the split screen did him no favors at all. I got the feeling during the whole debate that McCain knew he was sitting next to the next President of the U.S. and really resented it. McCain actually started somewhat strongly but his inner wingnut took over and that was the end.
McCain needed a revolutionary debate and this wasn't it.
