If by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people - their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties - someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad; if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal." - John F. Kennedy

Power On at Last
The little ice storm last night shut down the power, at least here in the Northern part of town, and it has finally come back. Lost some big pine branches but no significant damage that I can see. I just talked to my daughter who lives north of here and they have been hit much harder and still have no power. She is at work but her husband has been calling with regular status reports. Evidently it was a good thing that she had headed to work early this morning as the spot where she parks her Mini is now the resting place for a large oak limb. Her neighbors have been making fun of them for burning their fireplace every night but since it is the only house with a fireplace on the street she now has a house full of grateful folks. Supposed to warm a bit tomorrow so maybe some of the ice will melt.
