VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Thou shall not pollute the Earth. Thou shall beware genetic manipulation. Modern times bring with them modern sins. So the Vatican has told the faithful that they should be aware of "new" sins such as causing environmental blight. That second one is going to be tough when it comes to "drawing the line". Is it going to be a sin if you have a plastic bottle that's a "5" and the recycling center only takes "1's" and "2's" so you have to trash it? Is it a sin not to drive a Prius? What is the other worldly punishment going to be for driving a Hummer going to be? Is there any dispensation for buying organic or for being a vegetarian? We are walking a tough line here. Then again, we Buddhists could have told you a long time ago that both of them were not worthy and not cool.
Since the Protestants use the Catholic approved Bible do these "new sins" automatically cross over?
You notice I carefully avoided discussing the "genetic manipulation" sin. Just imagine walking/drifting up to St. Peter only to be informed that you should have married the ugly girl knowing she had better genes than the attractive one you wound up with?
