If by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people - their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties - someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad; if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal." - John F. Kennedy

Emergency Escape
I escaped early today. About 2pm the fire alarms went off and the intercom announced an emergency in the building. I grabbed my stuff and trudged down the 15 flights of stairs. After a half hour in the parking lot the all clear was sounded and I went to the parking garage and drove home. Fifteen flights of stairs is the limit of my dedication for any given day. Fortunately the day has turned of fairly nice and it's almost 60 out and sunny. The only downside was the time of escape. That put me in traffice with all the soccer moms and their Suburbans and other monsters trucks picking up their little flowers from school while nearly empty school buses added to the mix. Oughta be a law.
