What's Missing

An Angry Old Broad has a new post up that is worth a visit. she is saying some things that need to be said with respect to what kind of world we are living in now. She, like me, was brought up acknowledging that each of us has a social contract with our community and nation and that that concept seems to have slipped away from the consciousness of the average Amercian...much to our detriment.

I, for one ,miss the time when being good, unselfish, compassionate and caring for your community was not seen as weak and timid. I still think the values I learned as a Boy Scout are meaningful and and if followed can lead to a more rewarding and caring society.

The Goddess knows that our current potpourri of no social responsibility and an environment that rewards and nurtures greed, hate, fear, sexism, racism, compassionless religion, lying, cheating and stealing is continuing to sicken and weaken what was a once vibrant and envied society. The previous post is evidence enough that there is something important missing from our lives today.
